Description:  As a Christian, and as a minister of the Gospel, I have sought to read and study the Bible for almost forty years now.  The more I read and study its pages, the more I am constantly amazed at the greatness and power of this one Divine Book as the revelation of God to man.  As I have preached the Gospel of God’s grace in and by the Lord Jesus Christ, and as I have written articles, pamphlets, and books, I have had many people ask the following question – “How do you find the truths and the true meaning of the words you read in the Bible?”  The best answer I can give is that when any of us find truth (real truth, not merely what we believe to be true) in the Bible, it is by revelation from the Lord in the power of the Holy Spirit as He uncovers the mysteries of the glorious Person and finished work of redemption by the Lord Jesus Christ.  Christ crucified is the true key to unlocking the truth of God’s Word.  He said as much when He confronted the Pharisees – “Search the Scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and THEY ARE THEY WHICH TESTIFY OF ME” (John 5:39).  That being said, we must also understand that God has given His people minds and the power of reasoning so that when we are driven and directed by the Holy Spirit to search for truth in His written Word, we must diligently and responsibly use proper rules for interpreting the Bible.  The purpose of this book is to list, define, and give examples for what I believe to be the best rules of interpreting the Bible.  My desire and prayer is that the Lord will use these things for His glory, the salvation of sinners, and the edification of His children.  May the Lord use this as a tool to guide those who truly desire to read and study His Word. - Bill Parker
